Default smell in a car

A new car smells very bad, its intolerable to me as well as my kids. I tried using car perfumes but my kids feel chocked and do not like even that smell. Can you suggest what should i do?

Have you tried putting a bowl of vinegar in the car? Personally, I like the smell of a new car, but that's just me. I know that a bowl of vinegar can be used to remove cigarette smells from a small room so it might work with a car, but I'm not sure. Just don't drive around with the bowl in the car otherwise you'll have new car smell and vinegar.

yeah i agree with tongyun. vinegar is also very useful in removing the smell of a paint. especially if your house is newly painted. so i think that it can also work for cars.

I know vinegar is used to remove smell of a room but i am not sure about cars. I am afraid if it causes more unpleasant smell. But i will try it.
