Gas Club

I just saw an advertisement on tv for a gas club. You go online and join this club for $29.95/yr and then you get a gas card from them. You are locking in the price of gas in your area by using this gas card every time you buy gas. So if your gas is $4.19, and starts to go up, you will be paying $4.19 as long as you use this card.

What do you think about this idea? It said that just that day 6000 people have joined.

I also saw this same thing. You get to lock in a fixed gas price and pay that same price all the time even when the gas goes up.

They make money by investing the money before you buy the gas, advertising, and the yearly fee.

This is a great move by the club moderators or the gas station management, i this way the price of the gas in the particular place would be very competitive.

Yes, this would probably trigger the competition.

I think that I have heard of it before a long time ago. The only downfall that I could see for it is that you will have to get your gas from a particular gas station. Not every gas station is involved with it.
