Default Walking

Are you finding yourself walking more to places rather then driving since the price of gas has gone up?

I can't really do that since I live in the country, but there are certain places I can walk to.

Yep. I would walk short distances rather than drive. It is economical and a good exercise as well.

I agree it is great exercise.

We are walking to my sons basketball game tonight. The school is about a 30 minute walk from from my house. It isn't going to kill us to walk there and we won't have to worry about finding a parking spot.

I would normally walk most places - or bike, for that matter - BEFORE the gas prices shot up. Now it seems even nuttier to use a car for something frivolous.

It is crazy to drive somewhere where you can just as easily walk to.

I do feel bad at times I make my kids do more walking. They have basketball camp at a school that is actually right behind our house. They just have to walk threw a feild to get there.

Walking is good exercise, saves money, preserve the environment. Walk more if you can and do not be the slave to your car

When I lived in San Francisco, I used to do a lot more walking than I now do. Trying to park in the city was just crazy so taking the bus or walking made more sense. Also, since each neighborhood typically has its own little shops and restaurants, there really was very little reason to shop outside of the area, so I could just walk.

My hang-out would be a 35-minute walk from my place. And yes i agree, it saves more, and it does help a little to the environment. If you can, why not do it right? And the trouble for a parking space would be Zero.
