Default What is a good age.....

to allow a teen to have a pool party?

What do you think the appropriate age is to have a boy/girl pool party?

I think that depends on the level of supervision that will be available poolside. A pool party in my eyes is one of those situations that you can allow your child to have at even elementary ages as long as there is proper supervision. Just because you are there hands on and it can be viewed at the same level as a school swim class or a field trip to the YMCA.

Writersblock- will you be there with the kids? Teens--- I think is a bit more tricky than younger kids- Younger kids you will be there for the safety reasons- Younger kids won't be smooching in the pool.
I say let a teenager have a pool party- as long as you check in on them- stay in the house for most of it--- but check in...

Sorry, I should have specified...I did mean teens, not elementary age.

I agree to give them some space, but they need to know I am right there watching even if they don't see me.

well, i think that there is nothing really have to do with age. some teens does not know their limitations. and we can not avoid some problems when we allow them to have this kind of party. but sometimes, we also need to give them their space and freedom.

I think they can be allowed to have a pool party but initially there should be some supervision too. Soon, you would come to know about any possible problems and can take the precautions accordingly.
