Default Staying home more?

With the cost of gas increasing almost daily--- How many people are changing their summer plans? Staying home instead of taking those driving trips?

Cutting out other trips to the mall? etc.?

I know I'm not driving as much- I'm still driving to and from work but combining other things together to save the amount of gas I use.

We have opted to cut out our trips this summer. Even though we saved for this trip the actual increase in gas would take closer to 1/2 of our trip savings as opposed to the 1/4 it would have originally called for.

I'm a grumpy misanthrope anyway, or so my wife tells me, and so I always try to stay home. But we are also planning our trips differently--more stops, fewer trips.

Staying home is great as long as you are not bored. Staying in front of your computer posting inhybrid car forum is good! Anyway, if one is really going to drive outside, planning is great. What I mean is, if you want to go somewhere very important, just take the right road to go to all your detinations in one driving only. That should cut your gas spend.

I tend to plan my outing better. If I have to go to the next town for groceries, I make sure that I hit all the locations in that town during that one trip.

Default Staying home

I always prefer to stay home more if there's really no important events. As they say there's no place like home.

My family just plans better. Like we make sure if we are going to one area we go to every store that we need to. And i am going on as many summer vacations.

You know I just tried this this past week. My daughter had 3 softball games- they all started at 6 but we had to be there by 5:30- I don't get home from work until 4:30-- we brought everything with us in the morning- so we didn't have to run up home - I'm in the country and driving up the hills is a gas guzzler. I only used 1 tank of gas! I was impressed- We did have to grab food out though-- so I'm not sure how much of a savings it was!

Next time bring a picnic dinner so you won't have to stop for food too.

It does take time to plan out your driving when you are use to just going here and there and back again.

When you take the time, it does save on gas.
