Default Come On! There's Money To Be Made

I honestly don't know why the car manufacturers are shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to making hybrid cars. Registrations of new hybrid vehicles rose 38 percent in 2007, while overall vehicle sales declined by 3 percent. There's obviously a real desire for hybrid cars by the American car buying public.

Gas companies are making far too much profit while we are all cursing them as we pay moire and more for each gallon. Yes, we have been too quiet so far but they have got to realize that people just won't take it much longer. When there gets to be a real pinch to our paychecks, a real deficit to our way of living then we do get angry, angry enough to want another way to drive. They don't seem to realize that every time we go to buy gas, and I mean EVERY time we buy gas, we all have a real problem getting out that card to pay for it and we all get angry at least once a week.

Personally I thought that there would have been a revolt before this with people combining the hate for buying gas with the health concerns and that we'd become more like the Europeans and start getting on our bicycles and demanding bike paths so we can use it to get around our towns. But at least Americans are finally looking at hybrids -- and I'm hoping that the car manufacturers see that they can make a bundle of cash by bringing out a good hybrid for us to buy and use.

Come on, car manufacturers, we know you work on greed, there's MONEY to be made in Hybrids! Let's get going!

I agree!

There is big money to be made for the first car manufacturer they can find a technology that would make cars easily get 50 mpg with the same size and power as normal fuel powered cars today.

Also the cost needs to be in line with the cars today.

I guess we've all heard the stories about the extremely efficient carburetor that was bought up and shelved by the oil companies.

It sounds like an urban myth, but I've never actually looked it up.

There actually is big money in hybrid cars. Like normal cars, they are developing on many things improving hybrid ones. Hybrid cars are on their way to conquering the roads but it takes years to shift to them. Normal cars are really hard to phase out. But the move to lessen the price to compete with normal gas cars can be difficult, many factors should be considered, these includes the need of drivers for speed, less fuel consumption, vehicle and parts price, and the availability of replacement parts. Hybrid manufacturers should control their prices.

Here is definitely money to be made with hybrid vehciles

Once the prices are about the same as most gas powered cars and there is more choices out there, I bet these will sell more than conventional gas cars.

The manufacturers' minds have been sliced by the effect of the prices of the raw materials for manufacturing and the way they could help the environment. But they should start thinking one way, helping us to not destroy the earth.

Yes of course. There's so much money to be made on this! Manufacturing companies have common goals on making hybrids but the main goal should be being "earth friendly".

Some of these successful companies are having programs tat helps the people who are affected by global warming (as everyone should) as well as giving discounts to the consumers of their products.

I think convincing consumers to switch is a big issue. Sure, we're all on board, but you get your average Joe in middle America who is used to life being one way, and he's going to be reluctant to buy a hybrid, no matter how much we drum it into his head.
