What I wonder is why don't they convert their diesel buses to biodiesel?

I think converting the existing common bus engine can take a lot of time and have the big chunk of their budget than having new ones for the long run.

Yes, alot of time and a lot of manpower to use. However, if they buy new ones, the bus is totally conditioned for a long a time.

Wow that really interesting. Turning public transport into hybrids would save lots of fuel and it would be economical for people too. 7 & to 8 mpg is a sufficient increase in mpg.

I think this buses is the future of the public transportation in the mainland US. With more miles it can run against common buses, it will be hit!

Municipalities really need to take a look at options like the one that Chicago is considering because as gas prices increase, consumers will end up paying higher fares. For some people mass transit is their only form of transportation and if it becomes too high, these people will have no way to get around.
