Thumbs down Who among Law Makers own a Hybrid?

It's good to know that the people who made these laws and regulations about hybrid cars and environmental awareness has been appying it in their own lives. It has been a top news in New York and New Jersey. The Representatives are making the most out of their law by aquiring hybrid cars, but sad to know that the taxpayers are the ones that are paying for the cars. But its the law!

I have read this on New York Times. It is good to know that the people on congress are having hybrids for their service vehicles but has very expensive prices. It is still sad that the people and taxpayers are paying for their high-priced cars!

I don't know that the politicians in my area drive hybrids or other AFVs. But then, I live in Detroit, where the politicians are just about as far behind the alternative fuel curve as the auto companies themselves. I am hoping that President Obama, when he's elected (okay, if he's elected ) will bring more AFVs into the national fleet, though. I think that would be a big boost to the technology.

I have read this on New York Times: Representative Anthony D. Weiner, Democrat of Brooklyn and Queens, drives a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, leased for $219 a month. Representative Michael R. McNulty, a Democrat from the Albany area, gets around in a 2007 Mercury Mariner hybrid, a sport utility vehicle, for $816 a month.

Too good huh???!

$816 a month! Is that a typo? I'd heard hybrids can be expensive, but geez.

Wow! Very eye-popping! They can take what car they want, for whatever price it may be because its the taxpayers that are paying for the car anyway!

You're kidding right? We are paying for them to drive hybrids? at $816 a month- wow. I would like to think my taxes go for more important things than the vehicles they drive.

Well, we ARE talking about the govrnment who brought us the $600 toilet seat a while back and a current national debt that we'll never pay off. They're not exactly budget-minded!

Right now they have actually elected to give themselves a pay increase on top of all this. I mean they take home annually at around $165,000 not including perks.
