Default Hybrid bus!

I was out yesterday and noticed for the first time that some of the buses in my city are hybrid! At least that's what the big sign on top of them said. I'm pleased to see this development.

Anyone else have hybrid buses in their town?

All of the buses in our town are run by diesel. I saw pure hybrid buses in Okinawa when we visited our aunt. The buses are powered by compressed gas.

I never saw one yet. But yes, I have read that is it powered by compressed natural gas. Some uses biodiesel. I know they have many of these in London and Ireland.

Most of these buses are powered by biodiesel derived from the waste materials from homes and restaurants made into fuel. Alternately, the bus is powered by electric.

There is no doubt that the Japanese companies have the right tools and brains to implement these laws and have these cars in their own soil.

Yes! Honolulu has it. I had a very great experience there! You're right about that, you are one point ahead. Keep it up!

I've noticed the signs on the buses here in Toronto say that they're hybrids, too. When you hear them, they still sound like they're powered by combustion engines.

I wonder what portion of the power is conventional and what portion is electric?

It is probably just a little bit of powered used by the battery.
