Not In North America
I was reading another article the other day, from a Brit based newspaper, that asked why the States keeps refusing to have diesel cars when Europe has so many?
Now in the Hybrid news articles I see that VW is now "rethinking" their VW Golf diesel hybrid, saying they are too expensive to make -- after showing it at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. But then the car was never going to be sold in North America anyway.
They say a new cheaper version will come out in the future, but it will be to replace the Rabbit and Passat vehicle programs in North America. Notice, it's not coming out to bring about a whole new, cleaner, vehicle that as a hybrid will bring about a new buying trend in North America.
Is something going on here that also doesn't want cleaner diesel hybrids to take wing here?
I'm telling you, these car guys are going to wake up someday and see that they can make millions by offering the American public a good, clean, affordable hybrid car.
As the air gets dirtier and we all get more angry at gas prices, something's gonna give.
