Default Hybrid Cars Too Quiet for the Blind

I never considered the impact a quiet car would have, but California lawmakers have passed a bill to ensure blind people can hear hybrid vehicles for their safety. The measure establishes a committee which will study the issue and recommend ways the vehicles could be noisier. The bill is awaiting Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's signature.

This law can be a very difficult one to build. Noise pollution has been an issue for the whole world but when these kind of cars came out, there is still a big problem.

I think lawmakers in California should take a closer look at this one. Maybe an alternative way to let blind people know when there is a noiseless car.

Yes, everything has its own feedback. Although hybrids have very less sound produced, it is almost nothing to blind people. They might thought that there is no vehicle running. Maybe manufacturers should install special sound or something in cars for the safety of the blinds.

The noise is the main asset for the blind in their walks but there seem to be a problem with the hybrids. I think great talks between car makers and the government should be done in order to overcome this problem.

That would be one of the best solution they can provide on this issue....

Or maybe the government should include some sort of sound in their traffic systems.

The blind people should be guided accordingly by the government through some training guides. This is a matter of life and death for them.

If this os the problem, then hybrid manufacturers should think a lot on how to overcome this.
