This is a nice link to remind some of us to come to our senses before overreacting and running off to buy a car that really hasn't been tested. The price is also a huge issue, especially while the United States is in a recession.

The price really is an issue, with still such low credibility, and by credible, I mean it still hasn't been thoroughly tested. It should have been costing around 15k + I think.

There have been very few first generation cars that come out ready to hit the road with no problems. Often times, it's the buyers of these first generation cars who will find out what the problems are and have to deal with them. I'd rather wait until the bugs are worked out and buy a second generation vehicle that has fewer problems.

very informative link. But, i think all other disadvantages are acceptable and the only thing which bothers most of the people is its expensive price.

One of the things that I'm really curious about is what will happen to all of the batteries as they begin to die off and no longer accept a charge. These batteries cannot just be dumped in a landfill because of all of the toxic chemicals that could ended up in the groundwater.

Yes, the longer the test period, the better results that will come out. We should be aware of the actual tests of the cars before having one.

Instead of disposing such toxic things we should prefer to recycle it. I think there are some commercial battery disposal organizations which recycle your batteries for a small fee.
