Default Making Ethanol from Waste

There are many exciting developments in the area of making ethanol from waste. For example, DuPont has joined forces with Grenencor to make ethanol from the non-edible parts of of corn and sugar cane.

I have heard this on the news. This is a good move and a very nelpful project. This fuel can minimize the smoke coming from the cars as well as helping the farmers of corn and sugar cane to gain more earnings.

I think the ultimate vehicle is the DeLorean from the movie Back to the Future. It ran on garbage. If someone could develop a car that ran on garbage, two things would be taken care of - no more reliance on oil and land fills would begin to shrink.

That would be incredible!!! Then we wouldn't have to depend on natural resources which are always at the risk of poor crops due to nature. Thanks for the info. If it can be done, this will be the first major step toward getting our country off foreigh oil. Here's the link to their website:

Fulcrum BioEnergy - clean, low-cost, environmentally beneficial, reliable source of domestic transportation biofuels, intelligent biofuel.

I think theses are the only ways to redeem our mistakes. Such moves should always be promoted by us and we should also do this at small scales(eg.. by recycling our wastes)

One of the facts of life is that we will always have garbage of some kind. I really believe if this technology succeeds we will move toward the direction of self-sufficiency in the United States when it comes to energy.

Well said, tongyun, converting waste to energy has 2 fold benefit - getting rid of the waste and turning it into something useful.

Yeah it has another benefit also, it is indirectly saving our non renewable energy resources from getting finished. I think it can be the best future alternative energy source.
