Default Time for a new car

When do you anticipate buying your next new car? Are you leaning towards any specific hybrid or do you think you will have to go with a regular car?

I'm trying to drive my current car for as long as possible. I just spent $350 on it today.

I'd love to have a hybrid, but I'm not sure when I'll be spending as much as I'd have to spend to get one at the current prices.

I think it will be long before I'll buy another one. Currently I am driving a Honda, not hybrid. I can't afford to have a hybrid right now but tryin' to have one someday. I prefer Ford Escape.

Until I can know that I won't have to spend my whole paycheck when buying gas, I won't be getting a new car. If there was a solid hybrid car out now, I'd be thinking of getting it.

I don't drive at all now, but when I do it's with a buddy and we share paying for the gas. I can still remember the days when gas wasn't even considered when we all got together for a car fun trip. Now it's all we discuss.

I actually feel sorry for kids who don't know the freedom of just driving and not worrying about filling the car up. It looks like those last minute fun road trips won't be part of the modern kids memories. It's too bad they will never know the feeling of freedom that a carefree car can give you.

If I knew I needed a car this week I would have to go with a regular used car. I love the thought of buying a hybrid, but I just dont have the cash right now to buy new, and especially not a hybrid.

I like the thought of a hybrid but I would wait until a few more had been bought and tried first.

I'm with you. Especially if you just had to pay $350 to get it fixed, then drive it until it dies.

Right now my car gets really great gas mileage, 28 in the city and 38 on the freeway so I really don't worry about having to get a hybrid, yet. A friend of mine has one of those compact Suzukis and gets something like 50+ on the freeway.

Now...my van...that's another story. Unfortunately, we have a relatively large family and when all of us go somewhere together, we have to take the van, the car is just too tight in the back for three kids.

So, at this point, no plans to get a new car. Besides...who can afford one?
