Default Renewable oil?

Holey Moley, check out this news report from the Times of London:

Bacteria that eat waste and excrete renewable oil.

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Renewable energy is good, but OTOH wouldn't there still be burning flourocarbon issues?

That is crazy...I can not believe what they can come up with these days. I was a bit shocked to see they said the oil in carbon negative meaning it will emit less carbon into the atmosphere than that which was sucked out of the atmosphere to make it. That sounds like a good thing to me not sure about the other aspects of it. Guess we will have to wait and see.

The obvious way: oil farms. They're already talking about creating a demonstration-capacity oil farm, where they would create large vats of these things, feed them agricultural waste, and produce enough fuel to run cars.
