I don't think you're even allowed to call that a scooter. It's too... sexy.

I think I could only consider a scooter if I was in a warm climate zone - RELIABLY warm, almost all the time, with little rain - and would be assured of not running into much traffic.

Yes sccoter is a great option if you are willing to compromise with the comfort. It would cost you much lesser. But you would need a car if you want to travel with the family.

Scooter is essential if you are going to travel for only about 2 to 3 blocks away and with paved roads or ways.

It all really depends on the vicinity. Who would want a scooter on a very rough road? Unless your in for some weird ride. I would consider buying one when roads here in our town are paved.

I agree with the person who says there are many scooter riders who think they are riding toys and don't consider the dangers that can occur from being a stupid rider. I ride a motorcycle and make sure I obey the law and don't ride like a jerk because I don't want to give motorcyclists a bad name. There are many scooter riders who are law-abiding but it's the handful of morons who give people riding two-wheeled vehicles a bad name.

I too, have to agree with tongyun. Some scooter drivers has no idea what they inflict on some drivers, but this also applies with all drivers, not just the two-wheeled drivers.
