Default Car Gets 285 MPG...
...and it's not a hybrid. Engineers at Volkswagen were challenged to build a car that could travel 100 km on about 3 liters of fuel. Not only did they meet the challenge, they blew by it with a car that takes about 1 liter to travel 100 km. That translates into 285 miles per gallon.

Wow! This is just crazy.

Hopefully they will start producing cars for the general public that can get over 100 miles a gallon.
