As hybrid cars become more and more popular, do you think the prices will go down, or with such demand for them do you think the prices will go up?

Well right now I think the demand is pretty high, so I do not see the prices going down anytime soon.

Prices will start to go down as supply increase and more car companies start to offer more hybrid models.

I do think that we will see more and more models becoming available. This will be great to have so many to choose compare.

Toyota is planning on ramping up production to numbers rivaling those of "regular" cars. Yes, demand is high - but prices will come down as well. I think in about two years we'll see very reasonable prices.

I agree. Obviously not a perfect comparison but it is similar to game consoles or DVD's they start out extremely pricey but given awhile the prices come down.

They are in popular demand right now. I hear that you have to wait about 6 months to get one.

I am in Maryland and you wouldn't have to wait six months here for a Prius, for example though there is a wait. Wow! six months?

I dont know how long the wait is from experience....I read it from someone that it is 6 months.....maybe it is up to 6 months.

I know when I want to buy a car, I want it now...no waiting.

I wouldn't wait either. But I generally can't walk out of the showroom the first day I shop because I ask for a ridiculous price and I keep going back (usually because they keep calling) and after two days or so we get reasonably close to the price I want (cost + $200 is what I try for).

You are so right on that subject. I have walked out many times too. Last time I went to buy my truck, I walked out and the guy followed me out the door. He said, ok....let's deal. Then I got what I wanted and many hours later I had a new truck.
