Well, before this year, you'd be talking about a small segment of the car market (hybrids) being married with another small segment of the market (sports cars). That's not a good indicator for sales, and with the car companies hurting I don't imagine they'd step into something they couldn't make money off of. Now that hybrid sales seem to be blossoming, though ...

Hybrid Sports Cars can be very expensive in terms of the manufacturing materials. As conventional sports cars are, they shoud run like hell to be called sports car. And that requires great engine and great number of raw materials for manufacturing. I think there will be few manufacturers who can come up to this these days.
