I saw a show the other day. Don't know if anybody knows about it, but its called Beyond 2000 and it showed a 'Smart House' that Philips is developing. I think in Norway?
Anyway, its got cool things like a media centre on the mirrors, electronics that remember your settings, a Smart Kitty that acts like a robot which is like a remote control and stuff like that. It looked really cool and some of the technology looks like it'll come on the market in the next ten years or so. Sweet! |

*nods* I was wondering about that too. A lot of technology these days seem to made specifically for people who don't have time. Hence the lazy ones pick it up! But I suppose for housewives, this house could have a lot going for it

I haven't seen that program, but I have seen and read a lot of things about smart houses that have to do with it being more energy efficient. Your show seems to talk about how the house can do everything it can for us.
I am terribly interested in environmentally smart houses. Some things I have seen make me wish I had the money to go and build a house of my own that has all the gadgets on it to gather, make, store and sell energy back to the energy companies. If I could, I do it right away. I saw a program on environmentally great houses a few years ago and the newer houses are so much better. It is amazing how the technology is moving ahead. Now, like buying hybrid cars, we just need people to also be interested in using it. |
