Default No Waste For Heat?

Thank you guys so much for the hybrid news link you have. I read it this morning and I'm a bit concerned about something I've read.

The lead article says that hybrid cars don't have the excess waste heat around to use to warm up the driver and passengers. The news article says that it will take until 2012 to use a new idea that will be able to generate the heat that's needed.

Do the people with Hybrids here who live in really cold climates notice that? Are your cars colder, do they take longer to heat up and do you usually need to keep your coat on inside the car?

I have a medical condition that makes me very sensitive to the cold and I haven't heard about the cars feeling colder than other cars. It might be a small factor to others but I really need to know if I will be bothered by the cold in them.

Maybe these cars don't have heating elements inside. I have driven one but that's noontime. I don't know honestly but I think there is no heater in it. If they place that in the car, more electricity will be used. Thus, less time of battery drain.

Hey there, good to see new posts.
I have never have thought about it until now, Gas cars are emitting heat and being utilized to produce heat inside in cold weathers but I don't think hybrid cars have this feature.

This is an interesting discussion. I wonder the same thing about hybrids. Do they really stay cooler in the winter?

According to Idaho National Lab, hybrid car fuel consumption lessens when the airconditioning was turned on but the mileage also reduces.
