A Georgia company is teaming up with the US Department of Defense to create 7 test sites in an attempt to turn anything into oil. The company owner believes that if efforts are successful, within two years, about 500,000 barrels of oil a day could be generated.

Two years in the overall scheme of things is a short time to see if this will work. Like JamAce asked, what are the disadvantages? This is certainly new technology and there will definitely be some bugs. But just to stick it to the Middle East and Venezuela, I hope this really works so they can choke on their own oil.

With that number of barrels a day, there can be a blow down of the prices of gas. Also, there can be many models of car engines that can be invented or modified to fit the kind of fuel. Maybe hybrids can also adapt to the fuel that they want to mass produce.
