United States' Global Warming Contribution

U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases in 2004 totaled 7,122.1 million metric tons carbon dioxide equivalent (MMTCO2e), 2.0 percent more than in 2003
(6,983.2 MMTCO2e). U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in 2004 were 16 percent higher than the 1990 emissions level, there is an average annual increase of 1.1 percent over the period.

The nation is looking everyday for many answers to global warming. But sad to say that's the world leader contributed much to global warming.

I have read about this one, it also states that the 2004 increase in total greenhouse gas emissions in the US is attributable primarily to a 1.7-percent increase in emissions of carbon dioxide, along with increases in emissions of nitrous oxide (5.5 percent) and methane (0.9 percent).

Yeah, but we don't know the exact rating of the nations that don't even bother to care about global warming. Many ads on the internet, magazines, newspapers and tv directly shows the impact of global warming but many doesn't even care because they just treat the ads as commercials.

I wonder what the effects of hybrid and electric cars will have in the coming years? This should help reduce some emissions although this might not offset the increasing number of drivers.

Maybe less people will be driving anyways if the gas prices continue to increase.

the are many innovations in people's minds on a daily basis. And there should be answers in every problem. (hopefully)

I have read on the newspaper a few days ago that China have now surpassed the US in Carbon Dioxide emission percentage to the total of the world. I didn't hav much time to read the entire article but I have cleared that 27% to the total of the world emmission is now held by China.

I have read on the newspaper that China surpassed the US in the percentage of CO2 emmissions.

china is the world's largest country, so we can expect these stats. China is struggling to control it and promoting the use of bicycles in the country.

The US is the major polluter and consumption of valuable resources if you takes its relatively small population into consideration!
