The track is wide and the wheelbase in long enough. That is why it can be inferred that the Toyota Highlander Hybrid is very spacious. Looking at the outside, you can easily tell that there is plenty of room in the interior for different purposes. In the front and even the backseat passenger areas, there is enough shoulder room and leg room. The styling inside is well-refined, getting smart and cozy. The comfortable and is adorned with numerous convenient characteristics. As in other Toyota vehicles, the hybrid SUV’s interior is adorned with accessories and features that are made of the highest quality materials.
The Toyota Highlander Hybrid has a 40/20/40 split bench seat in the second row. This specification enables passengers to take off the center section when needed. The bench can be removed and stowed away to have an open center aisle for more space and better movement. There are also two captain’s chairs in the second row making the interior take a feel of a minivan. The third row is optional but has bench seat folds that can lay flat to the floor.
With the space and the adequate seats, the hybrid vehicle is good for up to seven passengers. However, as in the case in other SUV’s, adult passengers in the third row may not find it that comfortable because space in that part usually narrows. The hybrid vehicle has more than 42 cubic feet of space beginning from the back of the second row.
As for cargo loads, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid can be a perfect vehicle for trips and weekend getaways. There is about 94 cubic feet of voluminous storage area. It is just enough and even more to give room to cargoes and luggage of the passengers.
The fuel-efficient SUV comes in both limited and base trim levels. Base models are equipped with five passenger seats, superior air conditioning system, telescoping and tilting steering wheels, polished wood-grain trims and MP3 and CD stereo capabilities. A center screen in the dashboard also displays numerous vehicle information as well as a back-up camera. As for the limited models, there is an added third row bench that makes it possible for the vehicle to accommodate up to seven passengers in total. Other than the features of the base model, the limited model versions have power driver’s seat and in-dash six-disc/ CD changer. There is also an option for a rear DVD-video entertainment system, navigation and a seat heat feature.
The Toyota Highlander Hybrid’s cockpit for the drive is modernized compared to the regular Toyota Highlander. The tachometer is outplaced by a better power meter that able to indicate combined output of the integrated and functional gasoline and electric engines in kilowatt hours. There is a central video screen in the dash with a nifty color display, which graphs fuel economy and better power flow from the to the engine, battery and motors. The screen also doubles as an effective display for the navigation system that comes optionally.
