| Globally, the competitive race for fuel-efficient sports utility vehicles is on. At the thick of that current fray is General Motors Corporation, with its numerous lines and hybrid car models. The car manufacturing group is simply spending considerable and generous amounts of time, efforts and energy just to make sure it will emerge victorious in the long run. These days when gasoline prices are tending to rise uncontrollably, there is just a logical and expected rising demand for vehicles that will not only facilitate significant fuel efficiency but also call for greater sophistication and stylishness. There is no denying that the current car market is looking for outstanding and incredible hybrid cars that will certainly set new standards in fuel efficient cars. It is in that regard that the company has designed, made and introduced its GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid. Yukon is one of the outstanding and premium marques of the car manufacturing giant. Through the years, the company has come up with countless car models that awe and surprise the market under the Yukon name. General Motors know that make it victorious amid the hybrid car market arena, there is a need to strategically target all important market segments. Thus, if the car assembler offers affordable and less pricey fuel efficient car models via its Malibu and Saturn Aura marques, the company acknowledges the fact that opulent hybrid car buyers want their own distinction. What better difference General Motors could make but roll out and market the GMC Yukon hybrids. Yukon has become a traditional name for premium priced and expensive cars coming from the portfolio of General Motors. Up until now, there is no denying that the brand is still one of the most expensive, premium and sophisticated car products the company has under its wings. Through the years, consumers and car buyers have been recognizing the difference and advantage of Yukon cars. Now, as the market shifts focus to fuel efficient vehicles, buyers are offered the privilege to own hybrid cars incomparable to just anything else. That is the marketing spirit behind the hyped and distinct GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid. At the first launch of the GMC Yukon hybrids, the market was already amazed. Yukon aimed to further awe. The two-mode hybrid system of this latest hybrid offering took the market by storm. The initial mode of the hybrid car has been designed and manufactured for light traveling and low-speed driving. During this mode, the car’s hybrid system operates singly on electric and gasoline engine powers. In some cases, the two engines function to complement each other, but not at the same time. Usually, the electric power is only prompted and used when the gasoline power engine is shut off, in idle modes and when the car stops during traffic lights. The gasoline mode returns when the car starts running again. GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid is one of the few fuel efficient cars that can be capable to operate on electric power for a long period of time, but only at limited or slower speed. The hybrid system’s second mode is specifically useful for highway driving. The hybrid system is very ideal for highway driving because there is integration of several factors like cam phasing, late-intake closure of the valve and cylinder deactivation. These integrate with the electric assist, facilitating for more efficiency in engine operations. Eight-cylinder power is in full swing during driving situations like towing, climbing up steep roads and passing. It is noteworthy that General Motors collaborated with industry rivals BMW Group and DaimlerChrysler for the co-development and production of the two-mode fuel efficient system used in GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid. As such, expect that there will be other hybrid cars from BMW and DaimlerChrysler that would also offer the unique two-mode hybrid technology not anymore unique to the GMC Yukon hybrid. As for the launch of the hybrid car, much criticism and sarcasm was prompted across the market. That is because the initial tag price of the GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid could reach up to $56,000, including everything from charges to tax to other costs. This is one of the most expensive the hybrid and conventional market has generated and witnessed within its ranks. That is the reason why the GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid is also considered more of a luxury hybrid car rather than just a premium and sophisticated one. Because of that, it is just logical that numerous car buyers are not initially considering getting one. However, upon learning of the car’s outstanding and unique features and advantages, for sure, it will be hard to ever resist the calling to buy and invest in a GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid. Still many criticisms are hiding under the guise of constructiveness. Many analysts and critics assert that had General Motors decided to offer the GMC Yukon 1500 hybrid at less price tag or at least at the same level of pricing scheme as its gasoline and conventional GMC Yukon counterpart, for sure, it would be more compelling to patronize and buy the vehicle. But the company is firm to stick to its decision not to. Thus, the hybrid car is expected to remain less demanded for quite some time in the future. |
